Oh he does all sorts, from bowls to candlesticks, to screw top canisters and even tables and stools. He used to have a website and do craft fairs, but a promotion at work 4 years ago stopped the extra time he had for fairs; so now, its just for our use :) I showed him your kaleidoscopes and he thought they were spot on!
You might want to encourage him to get a shop on etsy.com (where mine is). Simple, easy, 20 cents to list an item. He might find it a nice diversion from work.
Did you see the earlier post about stained glass kaleidoscopes by a countryman (UK) of yours -- Frank Higgins?? (See below) Also, here is his Flckr page -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/kaleidoscopestudio/ He does incredible work in stained glass.
Professional woodworker specializing in small-scale wood turning on a lathe. I work primarily with exotic woods from around the world and "Dymondwood" a laminated wood product that is dyed a variety of colors and provides a visually appealing end-product. Most of my turning is of kaleidoscopes, desk accessories, cutlery, back scratchers, key rings, etc. I market on the web and wholesale and consignment.
Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy husband turns also, the end product is so tactile, you can't help touching them.
Wish you well with your listings .
What kind of turning does he do?? Does he have his work listed anywhere?? Thanks for your comment.
